Amid COVID-19 Surge, Sri Lanka Vaccinates Children

Sri Lanka Health Authority, on January 7, started vaccinating children, aged 12 to 15, following a warning of surge in COVID-19 by medical specialists. The Sri Lankan Health Ministry stated that children will be given single dose of the Pfizer vaccine. As per ministry, 47 Omicron cases have been detected in the country so far.  Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has recorded 5,89,479 cases and 15,065 deaths, with 64% fully vaccinated people.
