SC Orders On Firecracker Ban In Delhi's Neighbouring Rajasthan
Concerned about the rising pollution in Delhi, Mumbai and Haryana, the Supreme Court on November 7, said that its directives against the use of banned chemicals in firecrackers applied to all states and not just Delhi and its neighboring areas. The top court's clarification came during a hearing on an application seeking to direct Rajasthan to implement the court's order banning certian firecrackers and reducing air and noise pollution.

Bursting & Sale Of Firecrackers Is Banned For 3 Months: Delhi Govt
Ahead of the upcoming Diwali, the Delhi government on September 28 imposed a complete ban on the bursting and sale of firecrackers till January 1, 2022, in the capital. Notably, Several experts predicted that the celebration by the bursting of firecrackers will lead to crowds of people and air pollution amid the COVID-19. Moreover, DM and Deputy Commissioners have to submit daily action reports to the DPCC.

Kejriwal Imposes Complete Firecrackers Ban Before Diwali
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on September 15 announced a complete ban on the sale, usage, and storage of all types of firecrackers in order to curb the pollution on Diwali. Announcing the development, Kejriwal tweeted, ''A complete ban is being imposed...So that people's lives can be saved.'' However, the BJP criticised the decision and said the Delhi government should compensate the traders for their loss.
