Spain Experiences Heatwave, Wildfires Continue Spreading
Since the onset of the heatwave a week ago, wildfires have burned over 22,000 hectares of woods and brush throughout Spain. Temperatures in southern and southwestern Spain exceed 44 degrees Celsius, while the remainder of the nation averages about 40 degrees Celsius. So far, no fatalities have been recorded as a result of the flames, but three firefighters have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

President's Fire Service Medal Conferred Posthumously To Firefighter From Maharashtra
President's Fire Service Medal for Gallantry, has been posthumously awarded to firefighter Balu Damu Deshmukh from Maharashtra. On the occasion of Republic Day, 2022, 42 personnel have been awarded Fire Service Medals. Out of which, one personnel have been awarded the President's Fire Service Medal for Gallantry.
