Union Minister For Animal Husbandry and Fisheries L Murugan, on November 22, announced the extension of Kisan Credit Scheme to fishermen. Under the scheme, fishermen can take loans at low interests. The announcement was made At Kerala Fisherman Convention in Kochi, Kerala. Moreover, the Indian Government also released Rs 20,000 crores for the growth and development of fisheries sector under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Campaign.
