Power Station Flood In China Leaves 9 Dead, 2 Rescued

Nine people lost their lives after a building flooded at a power station in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichun Province, local media reported on January 14. Two people were rescued in a stable condition, while all the flood water had been pumped out by afternoon.  Pertinently, rescue operation was called off, which was joined by over 500 workers, as 11 maintenance people were trapped in the power station.

Floods In Iraqi Kurdistan Kills At least 12 People

At least 12 people have died and many more are feared injured due to floods in Iraqi Kurdistan, reported the Radaw broadcaster.  Since December 16, heavy torrential rains have been pouring in Erbil, leading to floods. Heavy Rainfall Causes Waterlogging In Several Cities Of Tamil Nadu

Continuous and heavy rainfall from the past two days has left with waterlogging and flood-like situations in several districts of Tamil Nadu. Speaking to ANI, a resident Rajathi requested the government to take immediate action to clear the waterlogging. "We can't cook and do our basic activities," added the resident. Besides, In view of this situation, Puducherry has also declared a holiday in schools and colleges for two days.

Karnataka CM Takes Stock Of Damage Caused By Rainfall

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on November 23, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Scientific research in Bengaluru which was flooded due to the heavy rains that occurred in the city. According to reports,  heavy rainfall in the state has flooded most of the urban parts of Bengaluru. Moreover, C.M Bommai assured Rs 5 lakh as compensation to those whose property has been damaged due to the floods.

Flash Flood Takes 3 Lives; Leaves 30 Missing In Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district, a sudden flood killed three persons and left 30 others missing on November 19. Reportedly, several communities were flooded after the Cheyyeru river overflowed due to the dam breach. Moreover, depression over the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, dumping heavy rains. Teams from the NDRF and SDRF have leaped into action for relief and rescue operations.

SDRF Rescues 60 & Found 5 Bodies In Uttarakhand's Bageshwar

During the search and rescue operations, Uttarakhand's State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has rescued a total of 60 people in the Bageshwar district. Besides, five bodies were also recovered from the Sunderdhunga Glacier region in the district. Search and rescue operations by the SDRF is still ongoing in the rain-affected areas since October 17. Reportedly, 64 people have been found dead so far and 11 are still missing.

Late Monsoon Floods Kill More Than 150 In India & Nepal

Thousands are stranded as heavy monsoon rains have destroyed homes, crops, and other infrastructure in India as well as Nepal. Uttrakhand region has been badly hit with approximately 48 deaths, and 42 in Kerala, whereas, in the neighbouring country Nepal, an average of 77 people have lost their lives, as of October 21. Reportedly, the government is trying hard to find people and save those who are stranded.
