Floor Test

Ahead of the Bihar Government floor test, BJP Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha submitted his resignation from the post. The resignation came on August 24, following the constant demands of resignation by the Bihar MLAs, who also moved a no-confidence motion against Sinha. Notably, earlier BJP's Sinha refused to step down as the Bihar Assembly speaker, after the exit of Janata Dal-United from the BJP and NDA alliance.

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray resigned as the Maharashtra CM, in the late evening of June 29. The development came after the Supreme Court bench reviewed a petition, challenging the ordered floor-test, and asked the Uddhav Thackeray-led government to prove the majority to continue with the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government.
