Odisha To Soon Launch ATM Like Food Grain Disbursement Centre For Beneficiaries

Odisha will soon have All Time Grain (ATG) dispensing macines to provide foodgrains to beneficiaries under the public distribution system. Announced by the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Atanu S Nayak, the ATG would be like ATM machines, helping people under the National Food Security Act and the State Food Security Schemeligible people to take foodgrains with a card. The pilot project will be launched first in Bhubaneswar.

India's 1st 'Grain ATM' Dispenses 70 Kg Of Grain In 5 Minutes

In what is considered a unique initiative, the Haryana government has rolled out a "grain ATM" that dispenses 70 kilograms of wheat within five minutes in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram. The machine named "Annapurti" aims at dispensing grains to avoid chaos at ration shops. The government will likely set up three more such ATMs. More varieties of grains will also be dispensed in the coming days.

FCI Warehouses In Punjab, Haryana Raided By CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched raids at 20 Food Corporation of India warehouses in the two states - Punjab and Haryana - and has seized samples of rice and wheat. Reportedly, the CBI is also checking the quality of the foodgrains stored in the warehouses. One of the officials stated the raid as a part of preventive vigilance to curb the corruption in places where public dealing occurs.
