IAF Finds 7 Missing Workers Near Arunachal Pradesh Forest, 12 Still Missing
The Indian Air Force rescued seven missing workers, who fled from a road construction site near Indo-China border. The workers from Assam were found on July 22, 17 days after being missing, inside a dense forest in Kurung Kumey, Arunachal Pradesh. The officials further said, the efforts to find 12 more missing workers are underway. Notably, workers are taken to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) medical facility for treatment.

Heat Causes Forest Fire In Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal
Due to rising temperatures in Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal region, a fire broke out in the forest area, on June 3. According to Manoj Rawat, a forest department official, "Forest range of Kirtinagar in Tehri Garhwal district is burning". He further stated that due to the "heat and unsanitary conditions", the employees of the forest department are facing problems. Operations to douse the fire are underway, and further details are awaited.

Fire Breaks Out In Pithoragarh, Tehri Garhwal Forests
A fire broke out in the forests of Pithoragarh and Tehri Garhwal on the night of 25th April. Ashish Kumar Chauhan, the Pithoragarh District Magistrate, shared that he had had a discussion with the Divisional Forest Officer. A team of forest personnel, disaster management officer, and others, had reached the spot. It took over two hours to bring the raging wildfire under control.

Ganja Plantation At India-Bangladesh Border Concerns BSF
Ganja cultivation near India-Bangladesh border has raised concerns. DGP of Border Security Force (BSF) Rakesh Ranjan Lal said, "We are trying our best. The rate of our success is higher in the detection and seizure of Ganja in the forest area." However, the constant rise in plantation is troubling the BSF, leading to use technical ways to destruct Ganja plantation. Notably, in 2021, BSF seized narcotics worth Rs 27 crore.

35 Arrested In Odisha For Destroying Reserve Forest
Odisha Forest and Environment Department arrested 35 people for illegally destroying a reserve forest area in order to ''construct permanent dwelling units'' in Sambalpur district on September 8. 6 People Died In Wildfire Across Turkey; Over 500 People Affected
Following the major loss owing to wildfires across Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared some parts of southern Turkey as ''disaster areas''. However, Agriculture and Forest minister, Bekir Pakdemirli said on July 31 that 88 fires out of 98 are brought under control. Besides, the fire has claimed 6 lives, including two forest workers so far. Moreover, 559 people were affected due to fire and the evacuation efforts are ongoing.

Leopard Population Rises By 63% In India: Govt Data
Data released by the Government on World Tiger Day on July 29 revealed that India's official count for the leopard population has increased by 63% between 2014 to 2018. Reportedly, the count used to be around 7,910 in 2014 and now it has increased to around 12,852. Meanwhile, Union Forest Minister said, "it's testimony to the fact that conservation of tigers leads to the conservation of the entire ecosystem".

Tiger Attacks Biker Trio, Leaves 2 Dead & 1 Injured: UP
A tiger attacked three people in the forest area near Ghugrai-Diuria road in Philibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. Following the attack, two people died while one sustained injuries. Reportedly, the trio were traveling on a bike at night when the tiger suddenly attacked them. ''One of them managed to climb up a tree while the other two died. Bodies have been sent for post mortem,'' said Philibhit SP.
