Extinct Giant Rhino Fossil Found In China
Fossils of a newly discovered species of giant rhino were found in the Gansu province of northwest China according to a paper published in the journal Communications Biology. The species were said to have existed 26 million years ago, were hornless, long-necked herbivores, suspected to weigh up to 20 tonnes. The fossils included a skull and two vertebrae found in the reddish-brown sandstone of the Linxia basin.
