Elisabeth Borne Appointed As PM Of France; Succeeds Jean Castex
French president Emmanuel Macron appointed Elisabeth Borne(61) as the new PM of France. Borne is a former Minister of transport, ecology, and labour. She is the second woman to hold the position after Edith Cresson (1991-1992) under President Francois Mitterrand. Borne joined Centralist La Republique en Marche party after voting for Macron in 2017 election. Borne succeeded Jean Castex, who led the French cabinet since July 2020.
