Delhi Auto-Rickshaws, Cabs Call For Strike Amid Fuel Hike
In Delhi, auto-rickshaw, cab, and taxi unions went on a strike, demanding a CNG subsidy and a fare revision amid rising fuel prices, on April 18. As per PTI, the auto-rickshaw Sangh said, they will protest outside the residence of CM Kejriwal. Notably, due to fuel price hikes, commuters are facing difficulties, as cabs and autos are on strike, whereas Uber and Ola's prices are high due to demand.

AAP Stages Protest Against Fuel Price Hike In Navi Mumbai
Concerned about the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel in India, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Navi Mumbai, conducted a weekly protest against the Central Government. On April 17, the AAP's Navi Mumbai unit, said the essential commodities prices are burning the pockets of the common citizens, affecting their budget. In regard to this, the AAP VP Preeti Shindekar, Airoli President Mansi Pawar, and others participated in the protest.

Auto, Cab Drivers To Go On Strike Against Fuel Price Hike In Chandigarh
Concerned about the rising fuel prices, the Cab Auto Sanyukt Morcha (CASM) called for a strike on April 12. Planned in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, the protest will have 'Chakka-Jam' in three regions, as the prices of petrol and diesel surged from Rs 45 to Rs 82 per liter. However, emergency services are exempted from strikes. The CASM also said, the protest will intensify if their demands go unheard.

Rajya Sabha Adjourned Amid Ruckus Over Fuel Price Hike: Delhi
The Rajya Sabha proceedings have been suspended over the ruckus created by the opposition leaders of Congress, TMC, and other parties in the Parliament. The Speaker adjourned the proceedings till 2:00 pm, after the opposition raised slogans and demanded discussion over the fuel price hike, in Question Hour of the Rajya Sabha. With this, it is the second time that the Rajya Sabha proceedings have been adjourned in the day.

Fuel Price Hike For 11th Time Worries Consumers In India
Indian metro cities witness another rise in prices of fuels, diesel, and petrol, on April 3. In Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai, prices for fuels increased by 80 paise, taking an overall rise by Rs 8, in the past week. With the hike, new prices are; in Delhi petrol is Rs 103.41 per liter, while diesel is Rs 94.67. In Mumbai and Kolkata petrol is 118.04 and 113.03, respectively.

Opposition Protests Against Fuel Price Hike In Lok Sabha
Opposition parties including Congress, TMC, DMK, TRS, and other political leaders, staged a protest in the Lok Sabha, against the fuel price hike. On March 31, raising slogans and placards, the leaders walked out of the ongoing sabha, demanding discussion over petrol and diesel price rise. Although Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla asked leaders to stop, the protest against PM Modi-led BJP Government continued longer.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Blames Russia-Ukraine War For Oil Price Hike
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari blamed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war for the constant rise in oil prices in India. He stated that 80% of oils are imported to India and that the only way to fight the price hike is to make India self-reliant. He further stated, India will soon have Rs 40,000 crore ethanol, methanol and bio-ethanol production economy, which will bring down India's dependency on other countries for oil.

Milk At Rs 100/Litre In Haryana As Protest Against Rising Fuel Prices
As a protest against rising fuel prices and farm laws, the Khap Panchayats in Haryana increased the milk prices to Rs 100 per litre. "We have decided to give milk at Rs 100/litre. We urge dairy farmers to sell milk at the same price to government cooperative societies," said a Panchayat spokesperson. However, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had earlier clarified that the prices have soared due to low production internationally.
