Maha Engineer Uses Discarded Materials To Make Recycled Furniture

Pramod Susare, a mechanical engineering graduate from Maharashtra's Ahmednagar, had a eureka moment on his business trip to China. In China, he visited places where discarded materials such as tires are turned into furniture and envisioned replicating the idea in India. Pramod's P2S International company now sells recycled furniture, which opened an entirely new market and the outlet will be available in Thane and Mumbai by 2022.

IKEA Launches Mobile App For Indian Customers To Shop Home Furnitures

Swedish furniture company IKEA launched its mobile app for both android and iOS on May 27, in-order to reach its Indian customers amid the pandemic induced lockdown. With home delivery its main agenda, the app will provide services in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat and Baroda with over 7,000 home furnishing products. Reportedly, the company aims to reach 100 million people in another few years.

In a first, IKEA To Set Up Store-anchored Mall In Noida

World's largest furniture retailer IKEA has revealed plans to open its first shopping centre in India following a 48,000-square-metre plot acquisition in Noida. Unlike its previously installed stores in Hyderabad and Mumbai, the upcoming Noida site would be a mall anchored by an IKEA store. Reportedly, Ingka Centres, which owns 45 IKEA store-anchored malls worldwide, will invest around Rs 55 billion in the Noida project.
