Student Electrocuted While Ganesh Chaturthi Immersion, Hospitalized

A student of a private university died of electrocution and four others sustained serious burn injuries on September 19. The incident occurred when the tractor in which they were travelling with a Ganesh idol came in contact with an 11 KV electric wire in Naraj area of Cuttack city, police said. The injured have been rushed to a private hospital in serious condition for treatment.

On September 1, the devotees immersed around 34,122 Ganesha idols and Hartalika in natural and artificial ponds on the one-and-a-half day of the festival. This is the first Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with enthusiasm and no restrictions, after the pandemic. Three MNS Workers Arrested For Assaulting Elderly Woman: Mumbai

Maharashtra police arrested three MNS workers after a video of them abusing, assaulting and pushing an elderly woman went viral on social media. The accused have been identified as Vinod Argyle, Raju Argyle and Satish Lad, and case under sections 323, 337, 506, 504 and 509 of IPC. Reportedly, the accused were installing a bamboo structure to hang a banner in front of a shop, to which the woman opposed.
