Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration In Full Swing; Mumbaikars Immerse 34,000 Idols

The festive mood of Ganesh Chaturthi is in the air of Mumbai, Maharashtra. On September 1, the devotees immersed around 34,122 Ganesha idols and Hartalika in natural and artificial ponds on the one-and-a-half day of the festival. This is the first Ganesh Chaturthi celebration with enthusiasm and no restrictions, after the pandemic. Furthermore, the BMC officials are also on alert, to ensure no untoward incidents occur due to the rush.

Three MNS Workers Arrested For Assaulting Elderly Woman: Mumbai

Maharashtra police arrested three MNS workers after a video of them abusing, assaulting and pushing an elderly woman went viral on social media. The accused have been identified as Vinod Argyle, Raju Argyle and Satish Lad, and case under sections 323, 337, 506, 504 and 509 of IPC. Reportedly, the accused were installing a bamboo structure to hang a banner in front of a shop, to which the woman opposed.
