In a tragic incident, a man and his wife allegedly committed suicide, hours after the woman was gang-raped in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Basti district. An FIR has been filed over the incident and two men have been arrested in connection with the matter. Basti Superintendent of Police (SP), Gopal Krishana, said that the husband died on Friday night while his wife died at a hospital in Gorakhpur.

In Manipur, another horrific incident of rape and sexual assault against women was reported.  Despote the ongoing assault investigation, a 37-year-old woman was pinned down and gang-raped.  She approached Manipur’s Bishnupur with a complaint that she was sexually assaulted on May 3. A zero FIR has now been registered and the matter has been transferred to the Churachandpur police station. The matter came to light recently on August 9.

In a horrific incident, a 14-year-old minor girl was reportedly burnt in a coal furnace in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district.  On August 3, the police confirmed the incident with the possibility of gang rape before burning the girl. The Rajasthan police have arrested three accused in connection with the incident. The matter was reported on night of August 2, and a case has been registered for detailed investigation.

In Jharkhand, a 14-year-old girl was gang-raped by three minor boys, confirmed police on July 19. Getting into the details, the victim was alone at her house in Bokaro, when the accused, allegedly students of class V, VII and VIII, entered her house and allegedly gang raped her. The Bokaro police officials registered a case and arrested all the three accused under juvenile section of the IPC.

In Delhi's Shahbad Dairy region, a 16-year-old minor was allegedly gang-raped in a park. The Delhi police confirmed the crime and arrested three accused, Bobby, Rahul and a juvenile, who allegedly raped the girl when she was at a park. Occurred on June 27 evening, and the accused were arrested two days after and the search for one absconding is underway.  The incident came a month after horrific stabbing crime.
