Bridges Connecting 2 Tows Collapsed In Meerut: UP
Part of a bridge connecting two towns over the Ganga river collapsed due to the strong flow of water caused by heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district on June 26. The bridge collapse has brought the traffic in several nearby villages to a standstill. The bridge was connecting Meerut's Hastinapur and Bijnor was washed away in the river at 4 am.

Boat Carrying 55 Passengers Capsized In Bihar’s Danapur
In Bihar’s Danapur, a boat carrying 55 passengers capsized in the Ganga river, near Shahpur police station area, on September 4. Reportedly, all the passengers hailed from Patna’s Danapur area. Of the 55 passengers, 10 persons have gone missing following the incident. As per sources, the passengers were all labourers, who were returning from work. Further details on the matter are awaited.

2 Teenagers Drown In Ganga River While Taking Selfies: UP
Shivam (18) and Sachin (16) who went to Ganga river in Kamalganj area to bathe, drowned on May 16. The duo were taking selfies in the mid-stream, after which they drowned. Two others who were bathing along with them were rescued by the locals and rushed to the Kamalganj Community Heath Centre for treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been returned to the families after they refused for post-mortem.

11 Year Old Girl Drowned In Ganga, 2 Missing: Uttar Pradesh
In a tragic incident, three including a minor drowned in Ganga river, Uttar Pradesh, on March 20. As per PTI, Kumkum (15), Arvind (10), and Shiva (11) were rescued by the locals, while three others Shyam Raidas (30), Dinesh Raidas (22) and Sakshi Raidas (11) drowned. UP CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief and directed State disaster force to conduct rescue operation and find bodies of Shyam and Dinesh.
