IUCN Red List Marks All Freshwater Dolphins As 'Threatened'

In its updated ‘Red List’, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has marked all the five freshwater Dolphins species as ‘threatened with extinction.’ The IUCN has cited incidental mortality in fishing gear, river pollution and construction of dams as the reason. UP CM Promises "Magnificent Riverfront" Along Ganga in Kanpur

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has announced that his government will develop a "magnificent riverfront" along the Ganga river in Kanpur, as a gift to PM Modi. Speaking at a meeting to review the developmental projects in Kanpur, he directed the officials to expedite the 'Namami Gange' project, smart city project and the metro rail project.
