A 22-year-old boy in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha allegedly tried to kill his father by slitting throat on October 9 after an argument broke out between them over the former's spending habits. The victim, identified as Surendra Pradhan, was a daily-wage earner in Andhra Pradesh but, due to the lockdown, he had returned to his hometown, Bhaghyadevi Sahi village.
