2 Succumb To Marburg Virus In Ghana; WHO On Alert

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that two suspected cases of Marburg virus have been detected in Ghana. Both the patients from Ghana's Southern Ashanti region have succumbed to the virus. The Marburg virus belongs to the same family as Ebola, and is a highly infectious Hemorrhagic fever. The virus transmits among persons through direct contact with bodily fluids of infected people and surfaces.

Tanzania, Ghana Added To "At Risk" Countries' List: Omicron

Indian Government, on December 7 added Tanzania & Ghana to the "at-risk" nations' list.  The two regions of Africa have been added amid the rising threat of Covid-19's new variant Omicron.  In the addition, there are 23 counties including the UK, US, and Germany are on the list. Amid the Omicron threat, India imposed strict travel rules, mandatory quarantine, RT-PCR tests, and thermal screening at airports for travelers.
