Jharkhand Reports 4 Cases Of Swine Flu; Officials On High Alert
The state of Jharkhand has reported four cases of Swine Flu, informed Jharkhand National Health mission on August 28. The cases have been reported form three districts, which are Bokaro, Ranchi and Giridih. The health department further stated that officials in the state are on high alert, and are ready to take measures to control the spread of Swine Flu. Further details on the matter are awaited.

Woman, Newborn Carried 7 Km On Cot, Die Outside Hospital Without Doctors
As a testimony of the abysmal healthcare system, Jharkhand’s Giridih district’s Surja Marandi died with her newborn outside a Community Health Centre due to absence of doctors and transportation. The 20-year-old woman reportedly went into labor complications on February 25, and was carried on a cot for 7 km to reach the CHC.
