India's first alcohol museum named ''All About Alcohol'' set by a local businessman, Nandan Kudchadakar, has been opened in Goa's Candolim. Kudchadarkar said we want to make the people aware of Goa's rich heritage and ''feni'' which is a strong local drink. He further stated that there is absolutely no museum in the world dedicated to alcohol so ''I decided to set up India's first museum dedicate to alcohol here''.
Former Goa CM and Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro has joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal's Kolkata. A total of 10 loyalists have joined the party on September 9. "Today I am starting a journey with Didi because Goa needs a credible alternative. I request her to come to Goa to protect the identity and heritage of Goa," Faleiro said.
According to reports, Goa Congress senior leader and two-term CM Luizinho Faleiro is expected to join Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Goa before the assembly elections next year. Mamata Banerjee-led TMC seeks to expand its base outside West Bengal and Faleiro could become the leading face for Trinamool in Goa. Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar clarified that Faleiro “has not officially conveyed anything” to the party yet.

Ahead of the Goa Assembly election, AAP party chief Arvind Kejriwal on September 21 promised that if his party came to power, he would reserve 80% of jobs for locals in the government and private sector in Goa. He also assured the AAP government would ensure a government job for one unemployed person in each family. For jobless youths, Kejriwal promised Rs 3,000 per month until they get jobs.

Two tourists, who belong to Pune, died after their car went down a stream in Arpora, North Goa, on the morning of September 20 at 5:20 AM. The victims have been identified as Shubham Dedge (28) and Ishwari Deshpande (25). As per Anjuna Police Station Inspector Suraj Gawas, “Primary investigation suggests that the mishap took place because the driver lost control of the car.”

As the COVID-19 cases are rising in Kerala, Goa on September 12 made the five-day quarantine mandatory for those who're coming from Kerala. Following the quarantine, they've to undergo an RT-PCR test. The government also extended the 24-hour statewide curfew until September 20 and banned Casinos' opening. However, no quarantine is required for health care professionals, kids below two years of age, and in case of a medical emergency.
Goa CM Pramod Sawant on September 9 announced that the state has administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to those who are 18 years old. Sharing the achievement on Twitter, CM Sawant said, ''We are targeting to complete the second dose of vaccination by October 31.'' However, Goa has become the second state after Himachal Pradesh to inoculate the first dose of the vaccine to adults.
The Goa government on September 7 withdrew the 'Standard Operating Procedures' (SOPs) issued for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival after CM Pramod Sawant expressed his disapproval on Twitter. A Russian citizen named Denis Kriuchoky was detained on August 28 in North Goa's Siolim village for murdering his Russian friend. On August 19, a Russian national, Ekaterina Titova was discovered dead in her rented apartment. After investigation, police found out the participation of the accused in the murder of Titova. The accused has been taken to custody for further investigation.
