Goa Govt To Mandate Fitness Certificates For Coaches In State

Goa Government is likely to seek fitness certificates from coaches employed by the State-run schools and sports centers. Goa CM Announces Electric Mobility Promotion Policy 2021

Goa Government on December 4, announced Goa Electric Mobility Promotion Policy 2021 for the next five years. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, the policy will help to generate 10,000 new jobs in the state and also encourage investment. For every 25 km on the highway there will reportedly be charging stations and for every 3 km in the city. About 50 stations will be installed within 3 months, he added.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant Withdraws IIT Campus Proposal At Shel-Melauli

Bowing to public opposition, Goa CM Pramod Sawant on January 15  withdrew the proposal to construct the Indian Institute of Technology's (IIT) Goa campus at the Shel-Melauli village. Reportedly, the government will be establishing the IIT Campus at another location. Besides, the CM clarified the move was not an election stunt. Earlier, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had written to the CM requesting a revocation of the proposal.

Goa: Historical Jail At Aguada To Be Developed As Tourist Spot

Goa's historic Aguada Jail is being renovated into a tourist spot under the Centre's Swadesh Darshan Scheme. The Portuguese-era structure, which is a part of the historic Aguada Fort, will harbour a museum honouring the state's liberation struggle. Goa Government Cancels 14th Edition Of Sunburn Festival

Goa Tourism Manohar Ajgaonkar on November 6 announced that the state government has repealed the permission for the Sunburn EDM 2020 scheduled from December 27-29. Ajgaonkar said that the state has decided to cancel the event for the wellbeing and health of the people. Earlier, the 14th Sunburn was slated to happen with 10,000 individuals while adhering to the COVID-19 health protocols.
