Amid the ongoing investigation in the death case of BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat, succumbing to the growing demands, Goa CM Pramod Sawant has announced to transfer the case to CBI. This has come after constant pressure from Phogat’s family and the Haryana government. CM Sawant further stated that he will be writing to HM Amit Shah about the same.

After Curlies restaurant was ordered to be destroyed over Green violations in Goa, police personnel have been deployed outside, on September 9. Notably, Curlies is the same restaurant where actor and BJP leader Sonali Phogat was allegedly drugged and killed. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on September 8, upheld Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority’s previous order to demolish Curlies. Further details are awaited.

In the ongoing investigation of BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat’s death case, Hyderabad police informed that all the drug peddlers involved were from Goa, although the main accused has not been arrested yet. Hyderabad Commissioner of Police CV Anand stated that of the two drug peddlers that were suspects to the case, one was arrested. He further stated that the Goa police did not cooperate with them.

Goa Police on August 27 detained the owner of Curlies Beach Shack in Anjuna and a suspected drug seller Dattprashad Gaonkar in connection with the murder of actor and BJP politician Sonali Phogat, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four. Phogat's PA and his friend were recently detained. During interrogation, the duo admitted they had purposefully had her consume a beverage laced with an "obnoxious" chemical.

After the controversial death of BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat, the Goan police have arrested two of her associates based on the post-mortem report. According to the officials, the post-mortem report revealed “multiple blunt force injuries” on Phogat’s body. Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi have been arrested by Goan police in alleged connection to the murder. Further details on the matter are awaited.
