GoI Imposes New COVID-19 Rules From Today

Amid a decline in COVID-19 cases worldwide, the Government of India (GoI,) issued new guidelines for those travelling to India from abroad. As per the new rules, signing 'Air Suvidha' form and mandate of pre-departure COVID-19 test is not required for those travelling from six countries. However, the random 2% testing of international passengers and arrivals from foreign countries will be same, in effect from February 13, 11 AM.

These Cars Will Discontinue In India Amid New RDE Norms

Abiding by the new Vehicles rule of the Government of India (GoI,) a series of cars will be discontinued in India from April 1, 2023. The cars which will be discontinued are Renault India, Honda Cars India, Hyundai India, Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nissan India and Skoda Auto India. Notably, the GoI introduced new BS6 Step 2 Emission norms also known as Real Driving Emission norms.

Govt Set To Launch India's First Cattle Sanctuary For Stray Cattles

The Union Government is scheduled to launch a pilot project of India's first cattle sanctuary for stray cattle problems. For this, the Yogi Adityanath-led UP Government allotted 52-hector land in Purkazi town of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. "he union government has sanctioned ₹63 crore for the project, which will be set up by the national dairy development board," said a source. The GoI will soon float tenders for the pilot project.

PM Modi Soon To Launch Vande Bharat Express Train In Gujarat

PM Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the updated new version of Vande Bharat Express Train, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on September 30. The new train, which has been approved for launch after several trials, will be en route between New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Vaishnodevi Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, travel on the train from Gandhinagar to Kalupur railway station, after the official inauguration of  well-equipped train.

Indian Govt Mandates Six Airbags In Cars, In Effect From Oct 1, 2023

Concerned about safety, the Indian government has made six airbags in passenger cars mandatory. The new implementation of six airbags will be in effect from October 1, 2023. So far only high-end cars come with six airbags, while 90% of vehicles on Indian roads do not have that feature, leaving the possibility of mishaps like road accidents. Union Road, Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari announced same through Twitter.

Indian Govt To Sell 1.5% Stake In ONGC To Raise Rs 3,000 Crore

The Government of India will sell 1.5% of its stake in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to raise a fund of Rs 3,000 crore. The offer for sale will be open on March 30 and 31, and the floor price for one share will be Rs 159. Notably, the government owns 60.41% of the stake in ONGC, which is estimated to produce half of India's oil and gas.

Indian Govt To Resume International Flights From Mid December

The Indian Government announced to resume international flight services from December 15.
