1 Lakh Saplings To Be Planted On Environment Day in Assam's Golaghat
On the occasion of World Environment Day, villagers of Dhansiri area in Assam's Golaghat district have joined hands with the Forest Department and Administration to plant one lakh saplings, on June 5. Reportedly, the saplings will be planted in the Tengani Dui Noi Mukh area. Sarupathar constituency MLA Biswajit Phukan said that they have planned to plant at least 15 lakh saplings during his tenure.

Man Dies After Being Lynched For Allegedly Stealing Goat: Assam
In Mamarani village of Assam's Golaghat district, the 45-year-old Sanjay Das succumbed to his injuries after being lynched by three persons, said a police officer on January 2. The police have registered the case on the complaint of the victim's family and have arrested two accused so far. Reportedly, the three accused lynched Das for allegedly stealing a goat. The goat belongs to one of the accused, reported PTI.
