Mahatma Gandhi’s Iconic Glasses Auctioned for Over Rs 2.5 crore
Mahatma Gandhi’s iconic gold-rimmed glasses were auctioned in UK for £260,000 (over Rs 2.5 crore) to an American collector. The glasses were found in a letter box outside the East Bristol Auctions house. Reportedly, it was sent by a man who claimed that his uncle had been given the glasses by Gandhi on his visit to South Africa in the 1920s. The glasses mark the house’s biggest sale till date.
