1.13 Kg Gold Hidden Under Seat Track Confiscated From IndiGo Flight
During a search in an IndiGo flight from Dubai to Delhi, the Customs at IGI Airport have seized 1.13 kg gold valuing Rs 49.9 lakh on December 19. The officials have confiscated unclaimed 31 cylindrical gold rods hidden under the seat track guards. As per reports, they have seized the gold under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. Besides, the Delhi custom authorities have called for further probe.

Kerala: Gold Smuggling Accused Agrees to Provide Evidences
Sandeep Nair, one of the accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, agreed to turn as an approver. He is said to confess the truth under the CrPC Section 164 to a magistrate. Nair, the fourth accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, is currently under the custody of NIA in Kochi. He was arrested along with Swapna Suresh for allegedly smuggling gold through the UAE consulate's baggage in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala Secretariat Complex Fire: Parties Allege 'Gold Smuggling Case' Foul Play
Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) have alleged foul play in the Kerala Secretariat fire incident in Thiruvananthapuram. They staged a protest outside the office on August 25, claiming it was "a conspiracy to destroy evidence related to the gold smuggling case". BJP state president K Surendran has demanded a probe into the fire. While Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala had blamed the incident on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
