Indian Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa Promises Gold To India
Buoyed by his World Cup silver medal, GM R Praggnanandhaa is confident of Indian team's chances of winning gold at the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou. Recently, on September 1, India's new chess sensation Praggnanandhaa was felicitated by Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at his residence. After felicitation, he said feels India has a "good chance" of winning gold at the Asian Games. Praggnanandhaa is a part of 10-member Indian team.

Hyderabad Customs Sizes 14 Kg Of Gold From Sudanese Passengers
At the RGIA, Hyderabad, Sudanese women were caught with 14 kg of Gold, confirmed Air Intelligence Unit and Hyderabad Customs. The arrest was made after a thorough search of 23 Sudanese passengers, who arrived at Shamshabad from a flight at 4 am. Man Held With Gold Biscuits Worth Rs 50 Lakhs: Assam
Six gold biscuits, smuggled from Myanmar and worth nearly Rs 50 lakh, were recovered from a person travelling by train to Delhi for selling the metal to a jeweller, confirmed an RPF official on September 15. The accused, Mahesh Kumar, who claims to be a resident of West Bengal was caught on board the Awadh Assam Express with a gold of weight one kg, hidden inside his socks.

Hyderabad Custom Officials Seize Gold Worth Rs 86 Lakhs From Woman Passenger
Hyderabad International Airport custom officers seized gold weighing over 1 kg, worth Rs 86 lakh from woman passenger. On June 16, a woman from Kuwait traveled to Hyderabad, when Air Intelligence Unit detected and seized the gold, concealed in paste form inside rectum, groin area and socks of the shoe, wrapped in a black plastic covering. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Delhi Man Arrested For Smuggling 1 Kg Gold At Jaipur Station: DRI
In Rajasthan's Jaipur region, a man was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle in one-kilogram gold, confirmed Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, on April 1. As per PTI, the raid was conducted at the Jaipur Railway Station after receiving a tip-off. The DRI recovered six gold biscuits worth Rs 52 lakh, which was smuggled into India from Myanmar. The accused was arrested and presented before a court, which imprisoned him.

Gold Prices Increase By Rs 271, Silver Gains Rs 818
Gold prices have increased by Rs 271, and currently stands at Rs 51,670 per 10 grams, as of March 3, according to HDFC securities. Meanwhile, silver gained Rs 818, and currently stands at Rs 68,425 per Kg. Reportedly in the previous trade, gold finished at Rs 51,399 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 67,607 per Kg. Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, Rupee declined by 15 paise against US dollar.

Police Arrests 4 People From Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar Train, Seizes Gold
Government Railways police seized 32kg of gold jewellery worth Rs 16 crores, from Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar Konark express on March 2. The GRP arrested 4 people, carrying the gold worth crores. The police officer added, they were suspicious of four men (Hasmukh Lal Jain, Suresh Sahadev Kharey, Mahesh Bhonsale and Deepak Patel) veiling the train and when checked their bags found gold without valid GST documents. Further investigation underway.
