Most Malware On Android Phones Are Spread By Google Play Store: Report

A report by NortonLifeLock and the IMDEA Software Institute in Madrid has indicated almost 67% of the malware-affected apps in Android phones come from Google Play Store. The report called the play store as the major vector for distribution of such malfunctioning apps. Paytm Rolls Out A Mini App Store; Provides A Platform To Indian Developers

Paytm has introduced its own mini-app store to provide Indian developers a platform. Reportedly, the app might be a competitor to Google. Paytm has mentioned that their app-store will help developers reach more people and over 300 apps, including Decathlon, Ola, and Netmeds, has already joined them. Paytm Founder, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, had recently discussed the chances of introducing an Indian app-store with 50 other app-founders.

Paytm Restored on Google Play Store, Gambling Feature Removed

Paytm app has been restored on Google play store within hours of its removal. The company’s newly launched ‘Paytm cricket League’ violated Google's gambling policies and led to the app being removed from its listings. “We continue to work with Google to restore the app. We assure all our users that their balances and linked accounts are 100 per cent safe,” the company stated, adding that the feature has been removed.

Google's Play Store Removes PayTM from its App List

Google's Play Store on September 18, removed PayTM from its list owing to violation of its regulations. Google Pay Releases NFC-based Card Payment Feature; "Tap-and-Pay"

Google has announced a new feature for "Google Pay", which lets the users to add their NFC-powered credit and debit cards as a payment method, apart from the existing bank account option. Google Pay offers "tap-and-pay" functionality for NFC-enabled terminals, encouraging touch-less payments using a smartphone. The feature will be running in India as Google have partnered with Axis Bank and SBI bank.

Google Play Instant: Play Games in Android TV Without Installing

Google Play Instant will soon be available on Android TV as well, allowing smart-TV users to try apps and games without installing them. Earlier, this feature was available to Android mobiles only. Also, Android TV users will now have to enter only 4-digit Google PIN, instead of entering the entire account password while purchasing apps. This feature will help users try apps without worrying about the Android TVs' limited storage.
