Google Announces $2 Billion In AI Startup

Google has doubled down on its artificial intelligence bets by investing another $2 billion into AI startup Anthropic, according to a new report. Google has already invested $500 million upfront to Anthropic—a rival to ChatGPT creators OpenAI — and will pay off the remaining $1.5 billion over time, said a post released on October 27. The mega-deal adds to Google’s $550 million investment into Anthropic earlier in the year.

Sundar Pichai's Ancestral Chennai Home Found Its New Owner

In an emotional moment for Google CEO Sundar Pichai, his ancestral home in Chennai has been sold. Located in Chennai's Ashok Nagar, the house has found its new owner in Tamil actor and producer C Manikandan.  “Sundar Pichai has made our country proud and buying the house where he lived will be a proud achievement of my life,” said C Manikandan. He recalled how Sundar's father broke down.

Google Prevents 1.43 Million Apps To Enter Play Store Amid Violations

In a move to prevent violated apps to run on play store, Google banned 1.43 million apps, formed. In an official statement, Google said, "Google prevented 1.43 mn apps on Google Play in 2022 for policy-violation. We also continued to combat malicious developers and fraud rings, banning 173 bad accounts, and preventing over USD 2 billion in fraudulent and abusive transactions." Furthermore, Google also raised the bar for new developers.

Neal Mohan Is New CEO Of YouTube

Indian-American Neal Mohan will be the new YouTube CEO, confirmed sources on February 17. The developments came after the current CEO Susan Wojcicki announced to step down from his post, after serving as the Chairman for 25 years. Mohan worked with Wojcicki for 15 years and was YouTube's chief product officer in 2015. Now, Susan will work with Sundar Pichai to take on an advisory role across Google and Alphabet

Ex Employee Of Google Shares Heartfelt Note On LinkedIn

Anna Mani's life's work made it possible for India to provide precise weather forecasts. The doodle stated, "She excelled so much in this male-dominated field that by 1953, she became head of the division." She perished in Kerala on August 16, 2001.
