With the upcoming 2022 elections, Punjab is witnessing the issue of strikes across many governmental departments. Along with the farmers' protests and few ongoing dharnas, the contractual government sweepers have been on a strike since June 13. The power engineers are protesting under the banner of PSEB since June 7. The Revenue officials are on an inter-departmental strike, after their clerical staff came back from one.
