Central Govt Due To Revise DA, Hike Expected By 3-4 Percent

The Union Cabinet is due to announce its decision on the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the second half of the year 2022. After the recent revision and DA hike, the Union Cabinet is likely to increase the DA for all the central government employees and pensioners considering the increasing inflation rates and price hike of essential commodities. DA is likely to be hiked between 3 to 4%.

Karnataka HC Verdict On Hijab Row, Upholds Restrictions

Karnataka HC announced their judgement over the ongoing Karnataka Hijab Row, pending since January 5.  The court upheld the restrictions imposed by pre university, and said wearing Hijab is not an essential part of the Islamic community. The HC bench comprising Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Krishna S Dixit and JM Khazi announced the verdict, on March 15. The court bench dismissed all the petitions filed against the restrictions.

UP Govt Increases DA For Staff To 31% From 28%

Ahead of Christmas, the Uttar Pradesh government announced a hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees on December 15. The government employees will now receive 31 per cent DA instead of 28 per cent, informed Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in a tweet. Reportedly, the decision comes into effect from July 2021.

Himachal Pradesh Govt Announces New Pay Scale For Employees

Himachal Pradesh government has decided to implement the new pay scales for its employees, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on November 27. The pay scale will be effective from January 1, 2016. ''The pay of January 2022 will be payable in February 2022 as per revised pay scales,'' said Mr. Thakur. Besides, all the pensioners and family pensioners will also get the benefit of the new pay scale.

Jammu and Kashmir Govt Postpones Darbar Move Amid COVID-19 Second Wave

Owing to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the Jammu and Kashmir Union territory, the government has postponed the Darbar move- a century-old practice of biannual shift of governance from Srinagar to Jammu. Moreover, the Lt Governor of J&K announced that the Secretariat will be functional in both Srinagar and Jammu ensuring smooth governance. The decision will eliminate the risk of travel and ensure safety, he added.
