Satya Pal Malik Summoned In Bribery Case

Governor Satya Pal Malik has been called for questioning by the CBI on April 28 in connection with his claim that he was offered a Rs 300 crores bribe to clear two files during his stint in J&K. The questioning will pertain to the Reliance Insurance matter, which allegedly involved Ram Madhav, a BJP leader, pressurizing Satya Pal Malik to authorize the scheme during his tenure as Governor of J&K.

Lakshman Prasad Acharya sworn in as the new Governor of Sikkim, on February 16. The function for the affirmation of the oath of office was held at Raj Bhawan, Gangtok. The 68-year-old BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh  Acharya succeeds Ganga Prasad as the 17th Governor of Sikkim.

Senior Congress leader K Sankaranarayan (89) breathed his last at his residence on April 25, in Kerala's Palakkad. Sankaranarayan served as the governor of Maharashtra, Nagaland and Jharkhand. In Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Goa, he held additional charges of governor. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expanded his Cabinet for the first time after winning the 2022 Goa Assembly elections, on April 9.
