Goa CM Expands Cabinet, Inducts 3 New Ministers On April 9

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expanded his Cabinet for the first time after winning the 2022 Goa Assembly elections, on April 9. The new MLAs inducted in the BJP-led Goa Cabinet are; Ramakrishna alias Sudhin Dhavalikar, Subhash Phal Dessai, and Nikanth Halarnkar.  Governor PS Sridharan Pillai administered the oath of office to the new ministers at Durbar Hall, in Dona Paula, Goa. With new ministers, Goa has 11 Cabinet ministers.

West Bengal Governor Sends Back Files Relating To Financial Matters

Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of West Bengal, "remitted back" files relating to financial matters, on February 22. He also mentioned that the financial matters would be addressed only after the state Cabinet decides to summon the assembly. Notably, CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the Governor is "unnecessarily" delaying government's work by not signing the bills on time. Governor "has not been signing the bills on time," tweeted Dhankhar.

Governor of Rajasthan Tests Positive For COVID-19

Governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra on January 29 informed that he has tested positive for COVID-19, but is asymptomatic. Soon after testing positive, the Governor has asked all the recent contacts to get themselves tested. In a tweet, he said that "I am healthy and have no symptoms. State Of Emergency Declared In New York: Spike In Covid-19 Cases

Owing to the spike in new Coronavirus infections, New York Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency till January 15, 2022, on the evening of November 26.
