In order to curb the anticipated pollution level in the city, the Delhi government has dedicated over 800 open spaces, where "green" firecrackers can be burst on Diwali. These places include the likes of school playgrounds and vacant plots. Even though the government allowed bursting of firecrackers on Diwali between 8 PM-10 PM, it urged citizens to refrain from this. It will also launch an awareness campaign in this regard.
