Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani Arrested Soon After Getting Bail
Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani has been arrested again after being granted bail, six days after being arrested for pressing "objectionable" tweets targeting PM Modi. The police from Barpeta district arrested Mevani again, however, refused to disclose in which case the Gujarat MLA was re-arrested. On April 20, Mevani was arrested from his home state following a complaint filed by an Assam BJP leader seeking action against him under the IT Act.

Gujarat Leader Jayrajsinh Parmar Quits Congress
Gujarat leader Jayrajsinh Parmar, of the Indian National Congress quit the party, on February 17. His decision to resign from the party was in the view of his disappointment with the functioning of the Congress. Parmar posted about his resignation on his Facebook account and said, he is not afraid and not the one to run after the power, and is resigning from the membership of the Congress.
