Mansukh Mandaviya To Chair 2022 Health Summit In Gujarat

Health Summit will be arranged from May 5 to 7 at the Statue of Unity in Gujrat's Kevadia, reported Union Government on May 1. Chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the summit will discuss India's fight against COVID-19 and the "Heal by India-Heal in India" campaign. The three-day summit will be attended by health ministers of states and union territories.

Tractor-Car Collision In Banaskantha Kills 5 People: Gujarat

Five persons have been killed in an accident on January 16, at Tharad-Dhanera highway in Banaskantha district, Gujrat. Reportedly, a truck collided with a car today morning. Soon after the incident, a police team was rushed to the spot, as informed by the official. According to ANI, three people died on the spot and two died during treatment at a hospital. Meanwhile, the police registered a case and started investigation.

Sale Of Non-Veg Foods At Roadside Stalls Banned In Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Gujarat banned non-vegetarian food from being sold on roadside stalls on November 16. The order said non-vegetarian items cannot be sold in the 100-meter radius of schools, colleges, and religious places. "People are free to eat whatever they want. But the food being sold at stalls should not be harmful and the stalls should not obstruct traffic flow," said CM Bhupendra Patel.

Bus Services From Nashik To Gujrat Resumed With Full Capacity: MSRTC

Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's (MSRTC) Nashik division has resumed the bus services from Nashik to various locations in Gujrat." While the state transport utility has already resumed its service from Nashik to Surat from Sunday, the services to other destinations will begin from Monday", KS Patil division traffic officer said in a statement. The service was halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

7 People Held Guilty For Organising Illegal Lion Show In Gujarat's Gir

A Gujarat court in wildlife-rich Gir-Somnath district has convicted seven people for conducting illegal lion show in 2018 in Babariya range of Gir. Convicted for torturing an Asiatic lion, six of the accused were given 3-year imprisonment while one was awarded 1-year jail term under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Reportedly, the issue came to the notice of forest officials after a video of the illegal lion show went viral.

Gujarat: 313 Gir Lions Died In 2 Yrs, Govt Claims Most Natural Deaths

Gujarat Government revealed that around 313 lions in Gir National Park lost their lives in a period of two years on March 6. Reportedly, during January 2019-December 2020, 69 of 71 male lions died of natural causes and 144 of the 152 cubs succumbed naturally. However, opposition leaders accused the state government of feeding rotten cattle meat to the animals. Earlier, a canine distemper virus outbreak killed 20 lions in Gir.

India Selects 4 States For Dry Run Of COVID Vaccination; Punjab First

The Indian government has selected four states - Punjab, Andhra, Assam and Gujarat - to begin the dry run of its vaccination drive against COVID-19. With this, the government want to identify loopholes and challenges that can be addressed before the roll out of the mass vaccination program. The dry run will start on December 28 from Punjab's Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar districts.

Gujarat Police Arrest Two People For Chasing Lions At Gir Range

The Gujarat Police has arrested two people for chasing and honking at the lions in Gadhiya village of Tulsishyam range, Gir forest. Junagadh's forests chief D T Vasavada said that they have identified the miscreants as Yunis Pathan and another as a minor. Moreover, the police arrested them on the basis of a video, which they shot from phone and uploaded on social media. The authorities have sent the two people on remand.
