To rescue 27 mountaineers from Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak following an avalanche, an expert team from Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir has joined the rescue operation. Kashmir witnessed an extreme cold wave as the minimum temperature hit below the freezing point. Srinagar recorded minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam recorded minus 4.1 degrees Celsius on December 3. Furthermore, Gulmarg's temperature was minus 1 degrees Celsius, where as the mercury in Kupwara recorded minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. The officials stated that a weak Western Disturbance is likely to hit Kashmir towards the weekend.

A one-of-its-kind visual treat has bedecked the Kashmir Valley, adding another feather to its cap. The Kolahoi Ski resort in Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg has turned heads by opening India's first-ever Igloo Cafe. The 15 feet high and 26 feet round igloo cafe dons a few local touches along with an arched entrance and exquisite patterns on the wall. Animated by the Arctic shelters, the icy wonder can harbour nearly 16 people.
