Bihar Former DGP Gupteshwar Pandey Took Volunteer Retirement and Joined JD(U)

The former Director-General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey on September 27, joined Bihar's ruling party Janata Dal (United), in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Recently, the ex-DGP had taken voluntary retirement from his duty, before which, he was involved in Sushant Singh Rajput's case. Reportedly, Gupteshwar Pandey met Bihar CM on September 26, but had not revealed any intentions of joining politics.

Bihar's ex-Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey intensified rumours about him joining politics as he met Cheif Minister Nitish Kumar on September 26. The ex-DGP took voluntary retirement on September 22, fuelling rumours about joining politics. However, after the meeting, he mentioned, “I have yet not taken any decision on contesting polls.” This meeting comes a day after the announcement of Bihar's Election dates.

Bihar: Former DGP Gupteshwar Pandey Confident To Win From Any Constituency

Former DGP of Bihar, Gupteshwar Pandey, on September 23 stated that he could win from any constituency in Bihar. The former cop said that he has been offered 14 constituencies to contest. While slamming Congress and Shiv Sena, Pandey said, "Anyone can take VRS after 30 years in service and do whatever he feels like doing. I have decided to serve people." Earlier, Pandey took VRS on September 22.
