Facebook Suspends Several Pakistan-Based Hacker Accounts In Q-22

Meta-owned Facebook suspended several accounts, which were being operated by APT36, a Pakistan-backed hacker group. On August 8, in the second quarter of 2022, the company clarified that the suspended accounts were targeting Indians through bogus accounts, harassing them on religion and gender grounds. The data was confirmed by Facebook, which released its Quarterly Adversarial Report earlier this week, featuring India prominently in it.

Hackers Compromise FBI Email System, Sends Thousands Of Messages

The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that their email systems were hacked and compromised. The hackers sent tens of thousands of emails warning of a possible cyberattack, threat tracking organization, Spamhaus Project said in a statement. India's NIA Hacked By Chinese State-Sponsored Group, Claims US

According to a private cybersecurity firm in the US, India's National Identification Database (NID) has been hacked by the Chinese state-sponsored groups on September 22. Reportedly, the hackers used 'Winnti Malware' which is solely shared across multiple Chinese activity groups. However, China has denied any kind of state-sponsored hacking and claimed that the country is a significant victim of cyberattacks.

Hackers Steal Over $600 Million Of Cryptocurrencies

In what is being termed as the biggest "cryptocurrency heist", more than $600 million digital currency was stolen by breaking through blockchain-based platform Poly Network on August 10 stole. Poly Network expects hackers to "establish communication" while at the same time telling them to return the stolen amount. "We are sorry to announce that #PolyNetwork was attacked," the company tweeted.
