UP: Dozens Bodies Float In Yamuna; Locals Allege Govt Hiding COVID Deaths

Panic surfaced in UP's Hamirpur district after dozens of bodies were seen floating in the Yamuna River on May 10. Many locals alleged it as the government's attempt to hide the official COVID death numbers. However, Hamirpur’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar Singh said the locals were disposing the bodies in the sacred river instead of cremating them owing to religious sentiments and COVID fears.

UP: Ex-COVID Positive Businessman Refills Oxygen Cylinder At Just Rs 1

Manoj Gupta, a businessman from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, is winning hearts as he has been refilling oxygen cylinder of patients and those facing shortages at just Rs 1. Gupta reportedly owns an oxygen bottling plant and has so far filled over 1,000 cylinders for people approaching him from different districts. Claiming himself to be a former COVID patient, Gupta said, "I understand the pain and trauma of COVID-19 patients."
