Neigbours Protest Reciting Hanuman Chalisa As Man Brings Goat For Sacrifice
In Mumbai, a Muslim man brought home a goat for the sacrifice ritual amid Eid-Al-Adha celebrations. However, the neighbours of the man identified as Mohsin Sheikh started reciting 'Hanuman Chalisa" as a symbol to protest the same, in the residency region of Mira Bhayander, Mumbai. The residents claimed the society has a rule that no livestock would be allowed on the premises, and demanded to take away the sheep.

Petition Filed Against Raj Thackeray, Demand Sedition Charges On Him
Hemant Patil, a Pune-based activist filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, seeking FIR against MNS Chief Raj Thackeray under a sedition case. Notably, the petition filed on May 4, is against Thackeray, for creating nuisance during his May 1's Aurangabad rally. He took a dig at NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, which could bring political unrest in the State. Notably, Thackeray is creating a ruckus over the removal of the loudspeaker issue.

Hanuman Chalisa Row MLA Couple Demands Homemade Food In Jail: Maharashtra
Currently, in judicial custody with the Mumbai police, the Amravati MP Navneet and MLA Ravi Rana moved to court, demanding homemade food. On April 28, the "Hanuman Chalisa" Row Rana couple filed a petition in sessions court, asking for homemade food to be served to them in jail. As of now, the hearing on this plea has been scheduled on April 29, for review.

Hanuman Chalisa Row: Kirit Somaiya Received Only Minor Injury, Says Mumbai Police
Mumbai police stated that BJP leader Kirit Somaiya's injury was "not major", during the alleged attack by Shiv Sena workers. The police released the information on the severity of his wound, after receiving a report from Bandra's Bhabha hospital, where Somaiya was treated. The cut Somaiya received was 0.1 cm with no bleeding or swelling, said police. Reportedly, Somaiya was allegedly attacked by Shive Sena workers at Khar police station.

Devendra Fadnavis 'Misled' People, Says Sanjay Raut: Hanuman Chalisa Row
Amid the ongoing Hanuman Chalisa row, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on April 26, accused BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis for "misleading" the people. Raut's comments have come after Fadnavis earlier stated that the state government has "taken up the role of Hitler". "No one is punished for chanting Hanuman Chalisa. If anyone wants to chant it, they can do it in their homes or temples," said Raut.

MNS Leader Detained For Playing 'Hanuman Chalisa' Outside Shiv Sena Office
Mumbai Police detained Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Yashwant Killedar and a taxi driver on April 10. The leader was arrested for playing 'Hanuman Chalisa' in a taxi loudspeaker outside Shiv Sena headquarters in Dadar, on the occassion of Ram Navami. The detained leader was taken to the Shivaji Park Police Station. However, as of now, no case has been registered against Yashwant Killedar.

Odisha Artist Carves 2 Copies Of Hanuman Chalisa In Wood
Expressing love for art and culture, Odisha-based artist Arun Sahu has carved two copies of the Hindu holy book, Hanuman Chalisa, in wood. Sahu "got the idea to make a Hanuman Chalisa in wood" during the lockdown, and he wishes to gift these copies to PM Narendra Modi and CM Naveen Patnaik. He stated, "My dream is to have a mini-museum in my district."
