Former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy met with Telangana CM and TRS leader K Chandrashekhar Rao, ahead of the general body elections in Hyderabad. The duo met at Pragati Bhawan on October 5. Kumaraswamy’s visit to KCR has come in view of the national party launch by the latter. Kumaraswamy along with 20 JDS legislators arrived at Hyderabad to attend the event.
Former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy said that the police department has exposed itself in the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) examination scam. He said that the BJP leaders had insulted an honest officer Kamal Pant. After which, his admirers in the department decided to teach them government a lesson by indulging in the scam. Kamal Pant was recently accused of lying about a murder in Bangalore's Chamrajpet, which started this, he added.
Karnataka's former CM Kumaraswamy criticised the BJP and Congress for the murder of 26-year-old Bajrang Dal activist in Shivamogga, Karnataka. On February 21, Kumaraswamy said, "last week I predicted that this would happen. The Congress and BJP can enjoy as they have destabilized peace in the State". Meanwhile, amid the ongoing situation, Section 144 has been imposed and schools/colleges have been shut in Shivamogga.

Former Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy on September 2 alleged that money collected from drug mafia, cricket betting, and other illegal activities were used to bring down his government. The statement came after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) recently busted a drug trafficking racket in Bangalore. Kumaraswamy's JDS party had formed a coalition government with the Congress, which was brought down in July last year.
