Andhra Pradesh Confirms Another Omicron Case, Tally Reaches 2

Andhra Pradesh reported its second case of COVID-19's Omicron variant. The State Health Department in a notice said that the variant was found in a 39-year-old woman of Kenya who come to Tirupati by car. She tested positive for COVID-19 at Tirupati, following which her sample was sent for genome sequencing to Hyderabad. The results came on December 22, taking the total Omicron tally in AP to two.

Omicron Cases Increase To 161 In India: Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, on December 20, confirmed a 161 cases of COVID-19's variant Omicron in India.
