India Registers Over 800 Cases Of Coronavirus

In India, the daily Covid-19 cases are rising again, with over 800 new cases. On March 18, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirmed that India registered highest number of cases in over four months. The nation reported, With 841 fresh infections, the active caseload has now climbed to 5,389. This is the first time in the past four months, that nation registered a high number of Coronavirus cases.

Delhi Reports Over 1,000 COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hrs

Delhi reported 1,204 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, confirmed the Health Department on the night of April 26. Furthermore, this is the fifth consecutive day, Delhi witnessed a rise in the daily cases and reported over 1,000 cases. With this, the national capital currently has 4,508 active cases in the State, and death toll stood at 26,169 with one new death. Amid the COVID-19 rise, face-masks have been mandated.

Heatwave Alert In Maharashtra After Heatstroke Kills 4 People

Maharashtra Health Department expressed concern over surge in temperature, and heatwaves, which killed four people in the state. State surveillance officer Dr Pradip Awate said they have issued guidelines on drawing up a heat action plan and circulated amongst people to follow. Furthermore, the cooling rooms were also set up in the State, which reported highest temperature in March itself. The officials also advised people to be cautious.

Maharashtra Reports 33,914 New COVID-19 Cases, 86 Deaths In 24 Hours

The Maharashtra Health Department confirmed 33,914 new COVID-19 cases including 13 Omicron cases and 86 deaths on January 25. The current positivity rate in the state stands at 94.07%. The total number of cases in the state has gone up to 75,69,425 while the active caseload stands at 3,02,923. Notably, Maharashtra's Omicron tally has climbed to 2,858. Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 1,815 cases, and 16,20,371 people are home quarantined.

'The Peak Of Covid-19 Is Yet To Come', Says Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur

Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur on January 21, said, there are high chances of an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state. All the big events during the winter have been postponed and the peak is yet to come, he added. "People should follow the guidelines issued by the health department," CM said. Mizoram Logs 984 New COVID-19 Cases; Positivity Rate Stands At 15.08%

The state health department on January 20, said that Mizoram reported 984 new COVID-19 cases, no fatalities and no recoveries in the last 24 hours. The current positivity rate in the state stands at 15.08%. The total number of cases in the state has gone up to 1,56,054, while the active caseload stands at 9,075. Notably, COVID-19 death toll in the state stands at 576.

Kerala Reports 29 New Omicron Cases, Tally At 181: Veena George

Omicron, new variant of COVID-19, continues to rise in Kerala, with 29 new cases, on January 3. The Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, "Among those found infected today, 25 came from low-risk countries, two from high-risk countries and two in Alappuzha contracted the disease from their contacts, taking the overall tally to 181. In addition, 42 people were discharged, taking the active Omicron tally to 139 in Kerala.

Andhra Pradesh Reports 2 New Omicron Cases, Confirms Health Dept: COVID Update

Andhra Pradesh Health Department on December 26, confirmed two new cases of Omicron in the state. The cases were reported from Anantpur and Prakasam districts. After a 48-year-old man and 51-year-old man reported COVID-19 positive, their samples were sent for genome sequencing. The Director of Public Health stated that the results have come out positive for Omicron. With this, the state now has six cases of Omicron.
