Booster Dose Duration For Above 18 Year Old Reduced To 6 Months: Union Health Ministry

Amid the rising Covid-19 cases, the Union Health Ministry has reduced gap for COVID-19 precaution doses to six months. Initially, the booster dose for people above 18-year-old was 9 months after being double vaccinated against Covid-19 infection. Furthermore, the changes in duration between vaccination and booster dose came at a time when the nation is recording over 15,000 cases, taking the cumulative active Covid-19 cases to 1,15,212.

Sacked Punjab Minister Vijay Singla Sent For 14-Days Judicial Custody

Former Punjab Health Minister and AAP leader Vijay Singla have been remanded 14-days of judicial custody. On May 27, a Mohali Court granted custody in corruption charges.  The judgment came after he was produced before the court for demanding 1% commission for projects in Punjab misusing his position. Notably, Singla was arrested by the anti-corruption branch and was sacked from the cabinet ministry by CM Bhagwant Mann.

First Case Of Monkeypox Discovered In Israel

Israeli officials discovered the first case of monkeypox in a guy returning from overseas. Anyone returning from overseas with a fever and lesions should contact a doctor, as recommended by the Health Ministry. Other possible monkeypox cases are being investigated by medical personnel. The case in Israel is the first in the Middle East. Around 80 cases have been confirmed by the World Health Organization, with another 50 suspected cases.

Delhi Logs 1,354 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hrs

After reporting over 1,400 COVID-19 cases on May 4, Delhi reported a dip in the case with 1,354 fresh cases the next day.  As per the Delhi Health Ministry, the national capital also registered 1,486 recoveries and one death due to the virus. Although cases decreased, the daily positivity rate for COVID-19 increased to 7.64%. In addition, the City administered 17,81,980 vaccine doses to the people till date.

Delhi COVID-19 Cases Rise With 1,500 New Cases In 24 Hrs

With the constant rise in COVID-19 cases, Delhi currently has 5,250 active cases, including 1,500 fresh cases, reported in the past 24 hours. Furthermore, 1,070 people recovered and two people died due to the Coronavirus infection. With this, the national capital has 4.62% positivity rate and 26,172 death cases till date. India Reports 2,593 Fresh Cases of COVID-19 & 44 Fatalities In 24 Hours: COVID Update

India reported 2,593 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total active case load to 15, 873, on April 24. Data released by the Union Health Ministry further stated that 44 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the tot death tally in the country to 5,22,193. Furthermore, over 187.67 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered so far.

Punjab Govt Bans Plastic Products Usage For Health Ministry Functions

The Punjab Directorate of Health and Family Welfare has issued an order, dictating the department to end the use of plastic products. India COVID-19 Cases Update: Reports 2,451 Cases With 54 Fatalities

The Union Health Ministry confirmed 2,451 new COVID-19 cases in India, taking the overall tally to 4,30,52,42, on April 22.  With this, India now has active cases at 14,241, and death cases at 5,22,116 with 54 fresh fatalities.
