PM Modi Lauds Vaccinators, Healthcare Works, As India Crosses 200 Cr Vaccination Milestone

PM Narendra Modi lauded all the vaccinators in India, as the Nationwide Vaccination Drive crossed a milestone of over 200 crore vaccine doses, against Covid-19. On July 20, PM Modi wrote, "Vaccinators, healthcare workers and support staff, and frontline workers have played a crucial role in protecting the people of the country". PM Modi called the action a dedicated form of duty at the most necessary times.

UPHC In Telangana Give Quality Treatment To Underprivileged, Including Free Medical Tests & Medications

Telangana government has expanded the services provided by the state's urban primary health centres (UPHC) with the goal of providing quality care to people at no cost. They provide free testing and medications. At these locations, people can also get free vaccinations. Dr. Ayesha, UPHC Centre Medical Officer, Yakutpura said, "We also do teleconsultation if it is needed in an emergency through App".

Karnataka: Patient Referral Process To Go Digital Soon

The Department of Health and Family Welfare in Karnataka has shared that the patient referral process would go digital, starting from 1st June. Come June, and the doctors and nodal officers would begin referring the patients through the website. Manual referrals would also be allowed initially, in case a technical glitch arises. From June 1, offline referrals would no longer be entertained.

Johnson & Johnson Plans To Split Into Two Companies

Healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson announced its plans to split into two different companies on November 12. The company will split its health division that sells Band-Aids and Baby Powder from its large pharmaceuticals unit, reported Reuters. The move came after multinational companies such as Toshiba adopted the same business strategy to simplify their structure. The separation is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.

SC Stays Allahabad HC's "Ram Bharose" Order Over Non-Implementation

The Supreme Court on May 22 observed that the "Ram Bharose" order of the Allahabad High Court regarding the COVID-19 management in UP was non-implementable and stayed its execution. Centre Asks States To Train Drivers To Carry Liquid Oxygen Containers

The Transport Ministry on May 22 directed the states to create a pool of trained and licensed drivers to supply medical oxygen to increase the transportation of health facilities. Aiming to have 2,500 drivers in the next two months, the ministry said the drivers will supplement or replace the existing drivers in relief work. The government also suggested to train drivers through short (3-4 day) program and apprenticeships.
