Heavy Snowfall Kills 42 People & Leaves Several Injured In Afghanistan
At least 42 people died, and 118 others were injured due to heavy snowfall in 15 provinces of Afghanistan. Moreover, 2,000 houses destroyed in the snowfall since 20 days, said officials. Roads Blockage, Water-Power Supply Disruption Due To Heavy Snowfall: HP
After being hit by a heavy snowfall in HP, several roads, including four national highways were closed, while several power and water supply schemes disrupted. As per State Disaster Management Authority's data, 731 roads were closed, 1,467 power-and-water supply schemes were disrupted. Snow-Capped Roads In J&K Force People To Carry Bodies On Shoulders
Amid heavy snowfall, the snow-covered roads in the Jammu & Kashmir are causing hindrance to the movement of people by cutting off areas. Meanwhile, the lax attitude of the authorities has jammed the wheels of ambulances, forced the people to themselves clear the road and carry patients and dead bodies on their shoulders. However, citing lack of machines for the delay, the officials have claimed more than 80% of roads were cleared.
