Report Reveals Alarming Rates of Abuse of Older Women in India
Shockingly, a study found that around 16% of older women had experienced abuse, with physical violence being the most common form. In addition, disrespect and psychological abuse were reported by 46% and 40% of abused women, respectively. The survey also highlighted the fear that prevents many older women to file a police complaint. The major reason listed is due to lack of awareness and available resources, and financial security.

HelpAge India Collaborates With CSC to Make Elderly People Digitally Literate
HelpAge India has collaborated with the Common Service Centre (CSC), to help elderly people over the age of 55, understand digital technology. The initiative was taken to help the elderly, who fail to access online services and digitisation, which have gained momentum owing to the virus. CSC, initially, plans to educate 1,500 citizens from Birbhum in West Bengal, Karauli in Rajasthan and Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu.
