Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's brother and JMM MLA gave a funny reason for his Delhi visit. On September 7, Basant Soren said, "I had run out of undergarments, so I went to Delhi to purchase them. I get them from there." The question on his recent Delhi visit came amid political unrest and crisis in Jharkhand. Moreover, recently Hemant Soren also proved trust-vote. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren is all set to seek a trust vote in the State, amid an ongoing political crisis. Soren will prove his majority in the State Assembly, on September 5. For this trust vote, Soren-led government cabinet called for a special assembly session. In this regard, MLAs residing in hotels flew to Ranchi to attend the special session. The MLAs include of 3 Congress and 14 JMM leaders.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has been disqualified as MLA by the Election Commission of India, confirmed sources on August 26. The announcement came after a hearing in the Hemant Soren mine leasing case which was being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI. Notably, the BJP has accused Soren of extending himself a mining lease and sought his disqualification as an MLA.

Ending the two-week long delay, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren announced that the state will begin COVID-19 vaccination of people aged between 18-44 from May 14. The state has ordered 50 lakh doses of vaccines which "will be free of cost for the people as the state will bear the charges," said CM Soren. Jharkhand has over 1.57 crore eligible recipients waiting for the vaccination.
