Hero Suffers 50% Decline In Sales Due To COVID-19 Lockdown

Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has suffered a 50.83% decline in its month-on-month sales in May 2021 due to COVID-19. The company has reportedly sold 1,83,044 vehicles in May 2021 as compared to the sales of 3,72,285 units in April. The company said that the sales have declined primarily due to regional lockdowns, causing temporary closure of manufacturing plants in different regions.

Hero Motocorp Manufacturing Units To Remain Shut Till May 16

India’s leading two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp has announced the extension of its manufacturing shutdown till May 16. Hero in its statement said the decision has been taken "in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation across the country." The company aims at scaling up the production when the condition betters in the nation. The shutdown was earlier announced on April 22 which was to end on May 9.

Hero Launches Xtreme 160R 100 Million Edition In Single Variant 

Hero MotoCorp, on March 12, launched its much-awaited Xtreme 160R 100 Million Edition in a single variant. Launched at Rs 1,08,750 the edition has been priced higher than the standard model (Rs 1,03,900). The new edition gets a dual-tone paint finish with red and white colour on the headlight, mask, and rare panel. However, the company has made no changes in the engine of the bike.

Indian Rider CS Santosh Suffers Crash In Saudi's Dakar Rally

In an unfortunate accident, the Hero MotoSports rally racer CS Santosh suffered a bike crash at the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia. The 37-year-old racer has received a head injury and was immediately airlifted to a hospital in Riyadh. Attending the Dakar Rally for the seventh time Santosh fell on the gravel track. Reportedly, Hero’s rider Paulo Goncalves died in the same stage of the rally last year.
